Halal as a term, can refer to what is “pure” or “permissible” for a Muslim. For example, when a compund or object is Halal, it refers to it not being mixed with any impurities, so you can go ahead and apply it on your body without fearing impurity. Halal can also refer to what is allowed for a Muslim, for example, it is Halal for me to own a cat.
